Most of a solar and battery quote is decided by what you qualify for. Here is the plain version, with no made-up numbers. We work out the exact figures for your system and put them on the quote.
Federal solar discount (STCs)
Small-scale Technology Certificates come off the upfront price of an eligible solar system. The value depends on system size and falls each year until the scheme ends in 2030.
Cheaper Home Batteries discount
The federal battery discount is also delivered through certificates, based on your battery’s usable capacity. Batteries from 5 kWh to 100 kWh are eligible, support is weighted towards the first 14 kWh, and the rate steps down twice a year. It has been sitting near 30 per cent of the upfront cost.
NSW virtual power plant incentive
A one-off NSW payment for connecting an eligible battery to an approved virtual power plant. The amount depends on your usable capacity and your VPP provider, and since July 2026 you no longer need solar to qualify.
NSW Home Energy Saver loan
Interest-free loans of up to $15,000 for eligible owner-occupiers and landlords, repayable over ten years, for energy upgrades including solar and batteries. Income limits apply.

Solar and battery FAQs
How much does solar cost in Sydney?
It depends on system size, roof type, inverter choice and whether your switchboard needs work. Rather than quote a headline figure we will give you a written price with the incentives already deducted, so you see what you actually pay.
Is a battery worth it yet?
For many homes now, yes. The federal battery discount changed the maths, particularly for households that use a lot of power after dark or charge an EV. We will show you the payback for your usage and tell you if it does not stack up.
How long does the install take?
A typical home solar install takes a day. Adding a battery usually makes it a day and a half. Switchboard or supply upgrades may add time, and we tell you up front if yours needs it.
What if my roof needs repairs or painting later?
Panels must be removed and reinstalled by a licensed electrician, not a roofer. We do that work, including for systems we did not install.
Do you install systems on apartments and commercial buildings?
Yes. We do strata and shared solar arrangements, commercial rooftops, schools and community buildings. See our commercial solar page.
