Switchboard & Consumer Mains Upgrades in Sydney

Replace old fuse boards with modern safety switches and circuit breakers, and upgrade consumer mains for today's loads.

Old ceramic fuses, asbestos backing panels, no safety switches, or a board that trips whenever the kettle and heater run together: these are signs your switchboard is overdue. We upgrade switchboards and consumer mains to current Australian standards.

Because we're Level 2 accredited, we can also upgrade the consumer mains and service connection at the same time, which is often necessary when the old cabling can't support a modern load. One crew, one visit, no waiting on a second contractor.

Every upgrade includes RCD safety switches on all circuits, clear circuit labelling and a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if my switchboard needs upgrading?

If your board has ceramic or rewirable fuses, no safety switches, signs of heat or scorching, or trips regularly, it should be inspected. Boards installed before the 1990s are often due for replacement.

Is a safety switch the same as a circuit breaker?

No. A circuit breaker protects wiring from overload. A safety switch (RCD) protects people from electric shock by cutting power in milliseconds when it detects a fault. Current standards require safety switches on all circuits.
